ABOUT MEDICATION:
USAGE:

GMFIT BRAND LOGO123 is an innovative patented formulation which provides joint protecting and strengthening substances. These substances work synergistically to:

  • Form and maintain healthy cartilage
  • Regenerate and repair new cartilage
  • Improve movements and reduce pain during rheumatoid arthritis
  • Relieve chronic pain and swelling within the joint.
  • Help improve arthritis pain control and Reduce  consumption of pain relieving drugs.

WHAT IT DOES:
Glucosamine:

Glucosamine is the most fundamental building block required for the biosynthesis of the classes of compounds such as glycolipids, glycoproteins, glycosaminoglycans (formerly called mucopolysaccharides), hyaluronate & proteoglycans requiring amino sugars. Glucosamine is a precursor for glycosaminoglycans a major component of joint cartilage and thus its supplementation helps to prevent cartilage degeneration and treat arthritis.

Low levels of glucosamine can be associated with delayed repair to cartilage and reduced mobility.

Methyl sulphonyl methane (MSM):

MSM is also known as dimethyl sulphone, sulphonylbismethane, methyl sulphone and DMSO2. It is derived from DMSO (dimethyl sulphoxide).

MSM is the source of organic sulfur in joint structures including cartilage and is shown to be effective in reducing or alleviating pain and immobility caused by ailments such as Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Back Pain and numerous additional health conditions.

Sulfur is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the collagen protein molecule through the formation of disulfide bonds.

Racemethionine:

Racemethionine is a racemic mixture of D and LMethionine and is an important donor of methyl groups and sulfur in various tissues. Methionine is an essential amino acid, meaning it cannot be produced by the body and must therefore be consumed in the diet. Good dietary sources of methionine include fish, meat, brazil nuts, soy and sesame seeds.

Methionine is of particular importance because it:

  • exhibits anti-inflammatory properties
  • has a pain-relieving effect and
  • stimulates cartilage cells to create more cartilaginous tissue.

Racemethionine is also a precursor to other sulfur containing amino acids such and other substances like S-Adenosyl Methionine (SAMe), Glutathione, taurine and L-cysteine. These substances have prominent effect in developing healthy bone cartilage, reducing inflammation, antioxidant and antiinflammatory effects.

Taurine:

Taurine (2-aminoethanesulfonic acid) is a sulfurcontaining conditionally-essential amino acid. Dairy products, meat, poultry, eggs and fish are natural sources of taurine. Body can also manufacture taurine from other amino acids like methionine and L-cysteine.

Stress is one of the factors responsible for chronic arthritic conditions. Taurine is highly concentrated in brain and has stress relieving actions. Thus taurine may be beneficial in patients with stress to form GAGs and prevent or reduce joint disorders.

Further its anti-inflammatory & immuno-modulatory effects are useful in patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE AND SAFE LEVELS AS INDIVIDUAL THERAPIES:

Glucosamine: The maximum recommended dose is 1500 mg per day. This can be taken as a single dose or divided into 500 mg three times a day.

MSM: Upto 500 mg thrice daily. Doses upto 3 grams per day are also reported without causing any adverse effects.

Racemethionine: Up to 800 to 1000 mg daily. Supplementation of up to 2,000 mg methionine daily for long periods of time has not produced any serious side effects.

Taurine: 500 mg – 3,000 mg per day as the standard dosage. However, dosages up to 6,000mg have been seen in cardiac patients trying to lower blood pressure.

SIDE EFFECTS:

The ingredients in GMFIT BRAND LOGO123 are the natural constituents or related substances of our body and their quantities are well below their highest tolerable limits. Therefore the chances of any severe side effects or adverse effects are minimal. However few  patients who are hypersensitive to any of the ingredient may experience few side effects. These effects in most of such cases
may disappear after discontinuation of therapy.

Though in rare cases following side effects are observed when they are taken as single ingredients.

  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal disturbances,  constipation
  • Asthma: Aggravation of asthma & shortness of breath
  • Allergic reactions: Itching and redness
  • Headache

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
GLUCOSAMINE SULPHATE:
Major Interaction:

Do not take this combination with Warfarin (Coumadin) Warfarin (Coumadin) is used to slow blood clotting. There are several reports showing that taking glucosamine with or without chondroitin increase the effect of warfarin (Coumadin) on blood clotting. This can cause bruising and bleeding that can be serious.

Moderate Interaction:

Be cautious with this combination

Medications for cancer (Antimitotic chemotherapy) interacts with glucosamine sulphate. Some medications for cancer work by decreasing how fast cancer cells can copy themselves. Some scientists think that glucosamine might increase how fast tumor cells can copy themselves. Taking glucosamine along with some medications for cancer might decrease the effectiveness of these medications for cancer. Some of these medications are etoposide (VP16,VePesid), teniposide (VM26), and doxorubicin (Adriamycin).

Minor Interaction:
Be watchful with this combination

  • Acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) interacts with GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE

There is some concern that taking glucosamine sulfate and acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) together might affect how well each works. But more information is needed to know if this interaction is a big concern.
Medications for diabetes (Antidiabetes drugs) interacts with GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE.

There has been concern that glucosamine sulfate might increase blood sugar in people with diabetes. There was also the concern that glucosamine sulfate might decrease how well medications used for diabetes work. However, research now indicates that glucosamine sulfate probably does not increase blood sugar in people with diabetes. Therefore, glucosamine sulfate probably does not interfere with diabetes medications. To be cautious, if you take glucosamine sulfate and have diabetes monitor your blood sugar closely.

Some medications used for diabetes include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), glipizide (Glucotrol), tolbutamide (Orinase), and others.

METHYL SULFONYL METHANE:

There are no known or documented drug interactions for methylsulfonylmethane However; this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist.

RACEMETHIONINE:

Levodopa (concurrent use with racemethionine may decrease the therapeutic effects of levodopa).

TAURINE:

With Lithium: Interaction Rating: Moderate Be cautious with this combination.

Taurine might reduce urine flow and slow down the rate at which lithium is flushed out. This could increase levels of lithium that stay in the body.
